Do You Know the Connection Method of Grooved Pipe Fittings?
Grooved pipe fittings use a fast, reliable clamp connection. The main steps are as follows.
1. Clamp installation. (1) Install the sealing ring: slide the sealing ring onto one pipe end, align the other pipe end with it, and move the ring onto the sealing surfaces of both ends. Neither side of the ring should protrude into the pipe grooves. (2) Fit the clamp shell so both ends seat into the groove, then tighten until secure.
2. Mechanical tee and mechanical cross installation. First remove one bolt from the shell and loosen a nut until the bolt head is exposed; rotate the lower shell away from the upper shell by about 90 degrees. Place the upper shell outlet at the pipe opening and align it with the hole, then rotate the lower shell along the pipe end to close the two pieces together (the same method applies to the lower shell of a mechanical cross).
3. Flange plate installation. Loosen the screws on both sides to separate the two flanges, fit the annular key parts of both flanges into the grooves of the slotted pipe ends, then insert and tighten the side screws, adjusting both gaps to be roughly equal. Install the sealing ring with its "C" opening facing away from the flange and push it into the inner groove of the flange along the pipe end.
