Detailed Description
The gate valve is a gate plate for opening and closing, which is used to connect and cut off the medium in the pipeline. The movement direction of the gate plate is perpendicular to the direction of the fluid. The gate valve can only be fully opened and fully closed, and cannot be adjusted or throttled. The gate valve is sealed by contact between the valve seat and the gate plate. Usually, the sealing surface will be welded with metal materials to increase wear resistance, such as 1Cr13, STL6, stainless steel, etc.
The gate valve body is made of high-grade ductile iron, which is light in weight and easy to install and maintain. The gate plate is made of high-quality rubber for the whole inside and outside, and the rubber and the ductile cast gate plate are firmly connected, not easy to fall off and have good elastic memory. The valve body is precision cast, and the precise size ensures the sealing of the valve without any fine processing inside the valve body.
Performance Characteristics
- Small flow resistance. The medium channel inside the valve body is straight, the medium flows in a straight line, and the flow resistance is small.
- It is more labor-saving when opening and closing. Compared with the stop valve, because whether it is open or closed, the movement direction of the gate plate is perpendicular to the flow direction of the medium.
- The height is large and the opening and closing time is long. The gate has a large opening and closing stroke, and the lifting and lowering are carried out by a screw.
- Water hammer phenomenon is not easy to occur. The reason is the long closing time.
- The medium can flow in any direction on both sides, which is easy to install. The two sides of the gate valve channel are symmetrical.
- The structural length (the distance between the two connecting end faces of the shell) is small.
- The shape is simple, the structural length is short, the manufacturing process is good, and the application range is wide.

Application limits
- Can it be used for steam above 150 C?
- No. Do not use for steam above 150 C unless a written project-specific approval, rated gasket, and compatible body material are confirmed.
- Can it replace any grooved fitting without checking pipe OD?
- No. Pipe OD, groove standard, working pressure, gasket material, and certification scope must be matched.
- Is it suitable for potable water by default?
- No. Potable water use requires confirmation of coating, gasket compound, local sanitary approval, and project compliance.
- Can it be used in corrosive chemical service?
- Not by default. Chemical compatibility must be verified against the medium, concentration, temperature, and coating system.
